Sierra Leone’s virtual goodwill ambassador, former British Prime Minister Tony Blair, arrived in Sierra Leone today and visited President Koroma at State House. Blair is in the country to further keep himself abreast with developments with regards good governance, transparency, health care, investment and tourism.

President Ernest Bai Koroma today ordered the arrest of National Revenue Authority/Customs
personnel who have aided and abetted the defrauding of the State through importers’ false
declaration of goods and the clearing of such goods from the Queen Elizabeth II Quay.

 

Consistent with government policy on transparency, openness and zero-tolerance on corruption, the Office
of the President finds  it absolutely necessary to let the public know its position on the matter of the Minister
of Fisheries and Marine Resources, Haja Afsatu Kabba, with the Anti Corruption Commission (ACC) having
invited her for questioning on allegations of corruption.
