President Koroma Welcomes New Oil Mission, West African Doctors


Addressing the team, President Koroma thanked them for their quick response to an invitation for intervention in the sector. He gave them a background of how an oil find has been made in the country but that the internal authority supposed to be handling the sector is a mere unit in his office. He therefore said that the unit clearly has "limited capacity" to handle the "technical and complex" matters relating to oil business.

National Church Leaders Bless President Koroma, Raise Issues of Concern on Education

8The executive members of the two most prominent national church bodies, the multi-denominational protestant Council of Churches in Sierra Leone (CCSL) and the Catholic Mission (thereby representing virtually all churches in Sierra Leone), yesterday 26th November 2009 poured words of blessings, in prayer and presentation, on the Head of State, President Ernest Bai Koroma, during a courtesy call
at State House.  

President Koroma Hosts Brazilian Delegation
The Government of Sierra Leone is hosting a delegation from the Federative Republic of Brazil on the 14th and 15th October 2009 in Freetown. This follows His Excellency Dr Ernest Bai Koroma's State Visit to Brazil at the invitation of President Lula in August 2009.
President Koroma Receives New Egyptian Envoy
President Ernest Bai Koroma today received the letters of credence of the new Egyptian Ambassador to Sierra Leone, Gamal Tawfik Abdullah. Expressing delight at hosting the new envoy, President Koroma, after conveying a message of best wishes to the Egyptian Head of State Hosni Mubarak "for his continued well-being and the prosperity of the government and people of the Arab Republic of Egypt", underlined the historic brotherly ties between the two countries.
