|“We are Excited about the Partnership with Sierra Leone”… MCC’s Senior Adviser Tells President Koroma|

Freetown - The Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC) of the United States Government has on Wednesday 30th January 2013, commended President Dr Ernest Bai Koroma and the government of Sierra Leone for the high level of performance in governance.
Expressing her profound delight about the progress made by the government so far, Senior Adviser to the MCC Chief Executive Officer, Cassandra Butt, heartily congratulated President Koroma on his resounding victory at the November polls last year.
"We are excited about the partnership with Sierra Leone and the work that the country is doing which makes it eligible for the MCC, and we commend you for that", disclosed MCC's Cassandra Butt, pointing out that the government of Sierra Leone has shown high credence in policy performance.
She declared that the commitment shown by President Koroma through the State House Chief of Staff, Dr Richard Konteh, is an indication of political will by the government to be part of the MCC's engagements, and lauded the efforts of the Head of State. She also expressed hope that the president continues to work for the development of the country.
President Koroma on his part said that the partnership with the American government through the MCC has really put Sierra Leone on the list of the new league of African states to address the issues of development, poverty, deepening the democratic process as well as governance.
He said the visit of the MCC delegation is a clear indication that; "We have come a long way and we are on the right track, and we are very much excited that we have qualified, that's why we are now moving quickly to coordinate things that can open up the country".
President Koroma assured the delegation of his unwavering commitment to stay the course and ensure that the right things are done to push the process forward.
He informed the delegation that government succeeded with the implementation of the "Agenda for Change" and it is now going along with the "Agenda for Prosperity", adding that government is on the right track to ensure that it continues to handle things at the highest level, and focus on the criteria that will always enable Sierra Leone to qualify.
Present at the meeting were the MMC Team from the US, State House Chief of Staff, Dr Richard Konteh, Personal Assistant to President Koroma, Brian Gilpin, MCC Combat Development Coordinator, Mamoud Idriss, The State Chief of Protocol, Soulay Daramy, and State House Communications Unit.
