OUR MANDATE IS TO ENSURE GOOD QUALITY, PROVIDE BETTER PRICE TO FARMERS AND TO PROMOTE VALUE ADDITION TO PRODUCE.

VISION

To promote the market of good quality produce by improving and monitoring the produce sector so that farmers and other stakeholders will derive maximum benefit with the ultimate objective of achieving poverty reduction.

MISSION

To monitor, oversee and regulate the produce sector in order to ensure fair pricing to farmers, agents and exporters, and to achieve good quality produce export according to international standards.

Functions

1. Marketing
2. To promote, improve and monitor the marketing of produce to optimize foreign exchange earnings and income of the stakeholders along the value chain.
3. To find markets for new exporters and to help them with their documentations
4. Provide stakeholders along the value chain with Logistic; bags, moisture meters, scales, seals etc.
5. Promote these commodities – cocoa, coffee, ginger, palm kernel etc. as value added products.
6. Pricing
7. To collect, collate and disseminate market information on price, production levels, world supply etc. to farmers, agents and exporters.
8. To collaborate with the Price Review Commission in order to advice stakeholders along the value chain the indicative producer price.
9. To ensure payment of correct price to farmers.

11. To promote and ensure the production and export of good quality produce.
12. To provide training on quality.
13. Finance
14. To assist the development of the produce sector by advising on the possible source of funding
15. To encourage the farmers and agents to use the warehouse receipt system as a means of financing their trade.
