Freetown – President Dr. Ernest Bai Koroma has on 31^st January 2013 said that he will not take the Auditor General’s Report lightly. He dropped this bombshell during the swearing-in-ceremony at State House of another batch of newly approved ministers and deputy ministers by the Appointments Committee of the noble House of Parliament.

The President urged the newly sworn ministers and deputy ministers, especially those joining the cabinet for the first time to read the document properly, as public servants must be accountable for their reckless financial indiscipline. “We must sanitize the system; we must kick lawlessness out of our offices and in our fiscal operations”.

The Chief Executive was very much determined about this; “You have to ensure that you restore law and order in your various ministries, as Operation W.I.D. is not only going to be limited to the streets but will also be in full operation in all government offices in order to ensure the full enforcement of law and order in this country”.

He disclosed that the 2007-2010 Auditor General’s Report uncovered the irresponsible manner in which public servants handled financial matters in the public service, to which he vowed, “I am not going to take lightly as the Secretary to the President is presently under instructions to react”.

Amongst the ministers that were sworn-in were the Minister of Energy, Oluniyi Robin Coker, Minister of Transport and Aviation, Vandi Chidi Minah, the Deputy Minister of Education Science and Technology, Osmond Hanciles and Martin Bash Kamara, Deputy Minister of Energy.

The Vice President Alhaji Chief Sam Sumana, cabinet ministers, senior government officials and family members of the new ministers were in attendance.
